Delta Dental of Washington
Delta Dental of Washington offers four employer subsidized dental insurance plans:
- Delta Dental Premier
- Delta Dental PPO
Although they all aim to prevent dental disease, they differ in the way they are designed and the dental networks they use. On the other hand, if you have purchased an individual or family plan, there are five options all under Delta Dental Covers Me:
There are also two plans that are part of the Washington Health Benefits Exchange. Either of these can be added to your qualified health plan.
We encourage you to read and understand the provisions of your plan. If you have any questions, our office staff will be happy to help you. They are very familiar with the intricacies of dental insurance in Marysville and can put your mind at ease.
Filing Delta Dental Claim Forms
As an in-network provider with Delta Dental, we file all of your claim forms. This helps to ensure that you receive the maximum benefits allowed for any specific covered procedure.
Understanding Dental Insurance
As noted above, there are several different Delta Dental benefits plans. However, there are some parameters that almost universally apply to dental insurance.
First, dental benefits are limited and they have an expiration date. Your dental plan comes with an annual dollar maximum that Delta Dental will pay toward the cost of your family’s dental care. (There may also be a lifetime maximum applied to certain treatments such as TMJ and orthodontics.) Whether you have met the maximum or not, your benefits expire at the end of the benefits period, which is usually December 31st. In other words, unused benefits do not roll over to the following year.
Secondly, you must satisfy your annual deductible before your benefit plan will begin to cover the cost of your family’s dental care. Be sure to read your plan to know how much your deductible is.
Finally, at the time of your appointment with the dentist in Marysville, you will need to provide a coinsurance payment, often referred to as the co-pay. This is an out-of-pocket cost that you must pay.
